HAVING STOOD as one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks since 1940, it’s fair to say that Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store is the city’s crown jewel.

Since opening its doors over 80 years ago, the store has been emblematic of excellence; an icon that serves to reflect the qualities that make the jeweller so enduring. This month, the space has been reborn, with Tiffany & Co. announcing today that it will open the doors to its flagship again following a significant redesign.

The grand opening of Tiffany & Co. is a momentous occasion for the iconic jewellery brand. Located on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue, the store, now known as “The Landmark,” has undergone a comprehensive renovation, marking the first significant overhaul since its establishment in 1940.

The reopening reintroduces the world to “old and new, past and future, hidden and revealed treasures” of Tiffany & Co., showcasing never-before-seen jewels, custom artwork, and immersive displays. With a nod to its past, the refurbished facade with the Atlas statue and clock above the revolving doors pays homage to the building’s iconic original structure.

“The reopening of the iconic Fifth Avenue Landmark is a major milestone for our House. Symbolic of a new era for Tiffany & Co., the Landmark is much more than a jewellery store— it is a cultural hub with an exquisite showcase of architecture and superior hospitality, as well as cutting-edge art and design. It sets a new bar for luxury retail on a global scale,” said Anthony Ledru, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tiffany & Co.

Architect Peter Marino and the renowned Shohei Shigematsu-led OMA New York were the driving forces behind the store’s transformation. While Marino reimagined the interior architecture, Shigematsu spearheaded the renovation of the building’s core and circulation infrastructure, in addition to adding the new three-story volume above the existing building.

Ahead, take a peek inside the new era of “The Landmark”.
